Launched in September 2009, this landmark bottling introduced Kilchoman’s distinctive farm distillery style to the world, with 9,000 bottles produced.

Matured initially in ex-bourbon barrels for up to 3 years and then finished for 6 months in sherry casks, this inaugural release offers a vibrant and youthful profile. It captures Kilchoman’s signature combination of bright citrus, sweet malt, and robust peat smoke, balanced by a touch of sherried richness.

The Distillery

Kilchoman Distillery, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005, is beautifully situated at Rockside Farm near the historic Kilchoman Cross and Kilchoman Church on the west side of Islay. As the island’s newest and most westerly distillery, Kilchoman specialises in producing exceptional single malt whisky through a field-to-bottle process, malting barley grown in Rockside fields and using pure local Islay water. Operating with just two small stills, Kilchoman is one of Scotland’s smallest working distilleries. Distinguished bottlings include Kilchoman Loch Gorm and Kilchoman Sanaig, highly prized by whisky enthusiasts worldwide.
