Invergordon 7 Year Old Highland single grain Scotch whisky. Matured in a sherry butt for 7 years followed by double maturation in a Pedro Ximenez sherry Octave cask #901446B yielding just 79 bottles. Bottled 11th March 2014 for our exclusive Burns Malt® series.
Invergordon Distillery was established by Invergordon Distillers Ltd in 1959 at Invergordon on the Cromarty Firth in Scotland’s Highland whisky region. Invergordon opened in 1961 and supports The Invergordon Distillery Pipe Band. A single Coffey Still was increased to three in 1963 and an additional and much larger column still was introduced in 1978 in order to produce neutral spirit. Ben Wyvis malt distillery was built in its grounds in 1965 although it closed in 1976 and was demolished in 1977.
Nose: Sweet sherry, oak, plums, dried fruits, burnt caramel, walnut whip, rose perfume, mocha coffee and juicy sultanas.
Palate: with water huge mouth-feel, sultanas stewed in sherry, milk chocolate, mocha coffee with a long and rewarding sweet sherry finish.
