Invergordon 21 Year Old 1993 vintage Highland single grain Scotch whisky. Single bourbon barrel #10445 September 2014 by Douglas Laing & Co. for the Clan Dennny range.
Invergordon Distillery was established by Invergordon Distillers Ltd in 1959 at Invergordon on the Cromarty Firth in Scotland’s Highland whisky region. Invergordon opened in 1961 and supports The Invergordon Distillery Pipe Band. A single Coffey Still was increased to three in 1963 and an additional and much larger column still was introduced in 1978 in order to produce neutral spirit. Ben Wyvis malt distillery was built in its grounds in 1965 although it closed in 1976 and was demolished in 1977.
Creamy toffee sweetness initially on the nose before heading to a spicy, caramelised fruit and home baked character. The palate has barley sugar, citrus fruits, crème anglaise vanilla and a hint of milk chocolate. The finish replicates much of what has gone before with a vanilla, coconut depth
