Holyrood 5 Year Old 2021 Infrequent Flyers
Bottle Information
Tasting Notes
Holyrood 5 Year Old 2021 Infrequent Flyers is a vibrant and youthful Lowland single malt Scotch whisky, independently bottled in 2026 for the acclaimed Infrequent Flyers series. Distilled in 2021 at Edinburgh’s Holyrood Distillery, this 5 year old release was matured in a single first-fill ex-bourbon barrel #318, yielding just 274 bottles at a powerful 60.1% ABV. Holyrood is one of Scotland’s new generation of urban distilleries, known for an experimental approach to spirit character and flavour. Maturation in a first-fill bourbon barrel allows that fresh, fruit-driven spirit to remain at the forefront, while the active oak contributes layers of vanilla, honey, coconut and gentle spice. Bottled from a single cask at high strength, this Infrequent Flyers release offers a concentrated and energetic expression of young Holyrood single malt. The combination of bright orchard fruit, sweet malt and first-fill bourbon richness creates a lively whisky with excellent texture and plenty of character.
