A historic limited edition Highland Park whisky commemorating the 60th anniversary of Orkney's world famous Italian Chapel.
The Italian Chapel on Lamb Holm in Orkney, often referred to as the ?Miracle of Camp 60', was built by Italian prisoners of war captured in Africa during World War II. Domenico Chiocchetti was at the forefront of this creation that is quite simply, magnificent. The prisoners were stationed on the island between 1942 and 1945 to help in construction of the Churchill Barriers.
Highland Park Distillery is the most northerly malt whisky distillery in Scotland and the closest Scottish distillery to the Arctic Circle. Highland Park was established in 1798 and is one of the few Scottish distilleries which continues to malt barley on its own traditional malting floors and to use locally cut peat from Hobbister Moor in its malt kiln. The distillery visitor centre welcomes visitors and offers distillery tours.
This exceptional variant of Highland Park contains a mix of exquisite, old and very rare whiskies. Capella is rich and full on the nose, with whispers of exotic spices, grapefruit and sandalwood. To taste it is full flavoured, with a smoky palate, soft oak and a heather honey sweetness characteristic of Highland Park.
