Tasting Notes

Nose: Sea-spray breeze meets peach compôte, blossom honey and vanilla fudge, with a whiff of coconut and lemon posset. Palate: Silky bursts of toffee-apple, ripe apricot and malted biscuit glide across the tongue, chased by ginger warmth, honey-soaked sultanas and a bright flash of candied citrus peel. Finish: Medium-long, mouth-coating and gently drying—lingering golden-raisin sweetness, soft oak spice and a final flourish of salted caramel.
Taste coastal Highland vibrancy kissed by dessert-wine opulence with Glenglassaugh 10 Year Old – 2014 Vintage, Alistair Walker “Infrequent Flyers” (Cask #2369). Distilled beside Sandend Bay and matured its full decade in a single Sauternes-seasoned hogshead, this small-batch release was drawn at natural cask strength in March 2025. Non-chill-filtered and natural in colour, only 309 bottles reveal Glenglassaugh’s briny-sweet spirit draped in waves of honeyed apricot, white-grape syrup and soft oak spice—another high-flying rarity from the Infrequent Flyers series.

Why We Think You’ll Love It

The Distillery

Glenglassaugh
Glenglassaugh Distillery, a prestigious Highland malt whisky distillery, is beautifully situated at Sandend Bay near Portsoy on the scenic Banffshire coast. Boasting breathtaking views north over the Moray Firth and the North Sea, Glenglassaugh is one of the few truly coastal Highland distilleries in Scotland, offering a unique maritime influence to its whisky. Established by James Moir and officially opened in 1875, the distillery has a rich heritage in Scotch whisky production. In 1959, Glenglassaugh underwent substantial rebuilding and successfully reopened in 1960, only to face closure in 1986. Demonstrating remarkable resilience, the distillery resumed operations in December 2008 and is now proudly owned by Brown-Forman of America. Today, Glenglassaugh continues to craft exceptional single malt Scotch whiskies, blending traditional distilling techniques with modern innovation, making it a beloved choice among whisky enthusiasts and collectors worldwide. Whether admired for its stunning coastal location or its dedication to quality, Glenglassaugh Distillery remains a cornerstone of Scotland’s esteemed whisky landscape.
