Palate: Velvet waves of treacle toffee, malt loaf and dark-chocolate truffle coat the tongue, followed by clove-spiked caramel, roasted hazelnut and a bright flash of candied citrus. Finish: Long, warming and elegantly dry—lingering sherry-soaked fruitcake, supple oak tannin and a final flourish of vanilla-malt sweetness.
