Tasting Notes

Nose: Bright raspberry coulis, honeyed apple and rose petal drift over vanilla fudge, toasted coconut and a hint of cinnamon stick. Palate: Silky bursts of toffee apple, malted biscuit and red-currant jam sweep across the tongue, chased by clove-spiked chocolate, roasted almond and a lively flash of candied citrus peel. Finish: Medium-long, mouth-coating and gently drying—lingering berry sweetness, soft oak spice and a final flourish of vanilla-malt warmth.
Uncover red-wine richness with Glenburgie 13 Year Old – 2011 Vintage, Alistair Walker “Infrequent Flyers” (Cask #805622). Distilled at the gentle Speyside workhorse and matured its full term in a single Languedoc red-wine–seasoned hogshead, this small-batch release was drawn at natural cask strength in March 2025. Non-chill-filtered and natural in colour, only 302 bottles reveal Glenburgie’s orchard-fruit charm wrapped in waves of crimson-berry compôte, vanilla cream and soft oak spice—another high-flying rarity from the Infrequent Flyers series.

Why We Think You’ll Love It

  • Full-term maturation in a Languedoc red-wine hogshead layers vibrant berry fruit, creamy vanilla and subtle tannin onto Glenburgie’s floral-malt base.

  • Bottled at natural cask strength, non-chill-filtered and natural colour—delivering full texture, aroma and authenticity.

  • 13 years strike a lively balance between youthful Speyside freshness and wine-cask complexity.

  • Part of Alistair Walker’s sought-after “Infrequent Flyers” series—strictly 302 bottles, ideal for collectors and flavour explorers craving a unique wine-cask Speyside malt.

Pour a dram of this rare Glenburgie and savour an exhilarating union of orchard sweetness, Languedoc berry richness and polished oak—an unforgettable whisky that soars long after the final sip.

The Distillery

Glenburgie
Glenburgie Distillery, originally established as Kilnflat Distillery by John Paul in 1829 west of Forres within Scotland’s prestigious Speyside whisky region, boasts a rich heritage in malt whisky production. Initially equipped with two pot stills, Glenburgie expanded in 1958 by adding two Lomond stills, enabling the creation of two distinct malt whiskies: Glenburgie from the pot stills and Glencraig from the Lomond stills. In 1981, the Lomond stills were removed and replaced with two additional pot stills, bringing the total to six pot stills today. Currently, Glenburgie focuses on producing high-quality malt whisky primarily for esteemed Chivas blends, solidifying its role in the blended Scotch market. While official distillery releases remain limited, Glenburgie’s single malts are highly sought after through independent bottlers such as Gordon & MacPhail, providing whisky enthusiasts and collectors with access to this historic Speyside distillery’s exceptional expressions. As a key player in the Speyside malt whisky landscape, Glenburgie Distillery continues to uphold its legacy of craftsmanship and quality, making it a revered name in Scotland’s renowned whisky industry.
