Tasting Notes

Nose: Lush raisin syrup, honey-dipped apricot and orange peel intertwine with toasted coconut, cinnamon bark and a hint of polished oak. Palate: Silky folds of treacle toffee, dark chocolate and sweet malt coat the tongue, followed by clove-spiked caramel, roasted hazelnut and a bright lift of candied citrus. Finish: Medium-long, warming and gently dry—lingering sherry-soaked fruitcake, soft oak spice and a final flourish of vanilla-malt sweetness.
Enter Billy Walker’s flavour workshop with GlenAllachie “The Sinteis Series” — Part One (2014 Vintage). For this debut in the experimental range, Walker marries spirit from first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry puncheons with whisky nurtured in Chinquapin virgin-oak barrels. The result is a bold Speyside single malt where PX-fuelled waves of fig, raisin and dark chocolate meet the spicy vanilla, caramel and toasted-nut profile of American Chinquapin oak.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Dual-cask creation: opulent PX puncheons for dried-fruit richness; Chinquapin virgin oak for creamy caramel, spice and toasted-nut depth.

  • Bottled at 57.8%, non-chill-filtered and natural colour—capturing full body, aroma and authenticity.

  • Showcases Billy Walker’s innovative cask-management approach, offering a fresh, flavour-forward GlenAllachie experience.

  • First instalment of The Sinteis Series—collectors can follow future parts to explore more inventive wood pairings.

Pour a dram of Sinteis Part One and enjoy a captivating union of honeyed fruit, decadent sherry richness and vibrant virgin-oak spice—an exciting glimpse into GlenAllachie’s flavour horizon.

The Distillery

Glenallachie
Glenallachie Distillery, located on the eastern edge of Ben Rinnes Mountain in Scotland’s prestigious Speyside whisky region, is renowned for its picturesque setting, often nestled within the snowline and exposed to the natural elements. Designed by architect William Delmé-Evans, the modern yet aesthetically pleasing distillery seamlessly blends contemporary architecture with the rugged beauty of its Highland surroundings. Commissioned in 1967 with two stills, Glenallachie expanded to four stills in 1989 to accommodate the growing demand for its distinctive Glenallachie malt whisky, a staple in many renowned whisky blends. While official distillery releases are limited, independent bottlers such as Signatory Vintage and Cadenheads offer a more extensive range of Glenallachie single malts, making them highly sought after by whisky enthusiasts and collectors. Glenallachie Distillery continues to uphold its reputation for quality and craftsmanship, contributing significantly to both single malt and blended Scotch whisky markets worldwide.
