Palate: Silken waves of treacle toffee, dark chocolate and sweet malt flood the palate, followed by clove-spiked cherry, roasted hazelnut and a zing of red-berry coulis from the Rioja oak. Finish: Long, warming and richly textured—lingering sherry-soaked fruitcake, vanilla pod, mellow oak tannin and a final flourish of baking spice.
