Glen Spey 18 Year Old 2008 Signatory Cask Strength is a richly matured Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, independently bottled by Signatory Vintage for its acclaimed Cask Strength Collection. Distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2026, this 18 year old expression was matured in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead and bottled at 54.4% ABV.
Glen Spey is rarely encountered as a single malt outside independent bottlings, making releases such as this particularly interesting for whisky enthusiasts. Its traditionally light, floral and gently fruity distillery character provides an excellent counterpoint to the richness of a first-fill PX cask, allowing the sherry influence to add depth without completely obscuring the spirit beneath.
The Pedro Ximénez hogshead brings layers of raisins, figs, dark chocolate, treacle and warming spice, while the mature Glen Spey spirit contributes orchard fruit, honeyed malt and a softer floral edge. At 18 years old, the whisky shows impressive integration, with the 54.4% ABV preserving plenty of weight and intensity.

While Glen Spey primarily supplies high-quality blended Scotch whiskies, its exceptional single malts are featured in prestigious independent bottlings such as Gordon & MacPhail’s Connoisseurs Choice and the sought-after Carn Mor ranges. This blend of traditional craftsmanship and strategic expansion ensures Glen Spey remains a key contributor to both blended and single malt segments of the whisky market. Visitors and whisky enthusiasts alike appreciate Glen Spey for its rich heritage, consistent quality, and the distinctive character that Speyside malt whisky is celebrated for worldwide.
