Tasting Notes

Nose: Waves of stewed apple, honeyed malt and soft blossom are embraced by raisin syrup, orange peel and antique oak polish. Palate: Velvety swirls of fig jam, treacle toffee and creamy malt glide across the tongue, followed by clove-spiced chocolate, roasted hazelnut and a bright citrus lift. Finish: Long, warming and gently dry—lingering sherry-soaked fruitcake, mellow oak tannin and a final whisper of vanilla-malt sweetness.

Encounter Speyside refinement wrapped in sumptuous sherry with Glen Grant 25 Year Old – 2000 Vintage, Signatory Symington’s Choice. Distilled at Rothes in the millennium year and laid down in a single 1st-fill Oloroso Sherry Butt (#6), this whisky matured undisturbed for a quarter-century before bottling in April 2025. Un-coloured, non-chill-filtered and released at natural cask strength, just 679 individually-numbered bottles capture Glen Grant’s hallmark orchard-fruit elegance enriched by profound layers of dried fruit, dark chocolate and polished oak.

The Distillery

Glen Grant
Glen Grant Distillery, founded in 1840 by brothers James and John Grant, experienced such success that Glen Grant No. 2 was constructed across the road in 1897 to meet soaring demand for its Speyside malt whisky. Situated in Rothes and equipped with eight stills plus an on-site bottling plant, Glen Grant remains a cornerstone of Scottish whisky craftsmanship. Visitors can explore a meticulously maintained Victorian garden—created during the late 19th century—nestled in the valley behind the distillery. Over the years, Gordon & MacPhail has released exceptional vintage single malts from Glen Grant, including rarities dating back to the 1950s, underscoring the distillery’s enduring legacy and timeless appeal.
