Glen Garioch is a Highland malt whisky distillery situated in the town of Inverurie and welcomes visitors. The location chosen by John & Alexander Manson for their malt whisky distillery in 1797 was an obvious one. Oldmeldrum in the celebrated Valley of the Garioch was named The Granary of Aberdeenshire - famous for producing the finest barley in Scotland. Walks through an orchard of ripe apples and warm woodiness.

The Distillery

Glen Garioch Distillery, established around 1785, stands among Scotland’s oldest working distilleries and is located in Oldmeldrum, part of the Highland whisky region. Currently operating with two stills, it once relied on traditional floor maltings—in use until 1993—giving older releases a subtle smoky note. Today, the core Glen Garioch range features the well-known 12 Year Old, while independent bottlers such as Cadenhead’s and Old Malt Cask occasionally present special single malt expressions. This enduring Highland distillery, steeped in craftsmanship and heritage, continues to captivate Scotch whisky enthusiasts worldwide.
