Dumbarton
Dumbarton Distillery is a lost Scottish Lowland grain distillery which opened in 1938, closed in 2002 and was demolished in 2008. Situated in Dumbarton and equipped with a Coffey still. Dumbarton whisky flowed into Ballantyne’s blends.
This burnished gold whisky has a robustly sweet nose of fudge and custard at the beginning, with rich notes of dates and prunes giving balance. On the palate it has a buttery mouthfeel with vanilla and rich fruit flavours dominating, leaving a long dry sweet finish with a definite oak aftertaste.
