Deanston 14 Year Old 2012 Unicorn is a single cask Highland single malt Scotch whisky, selected and bottled exclusively for The Whisky Barrel as part of the acclaimed Unicorn Series. Distilled in 2012 and bottled in July 2026, this 14 year old Deanston was matured in a Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead, yielding just 266 bottles at a natural cask strength of 57.3% ABV. Bottled non-chill filtered and with no added colour, it is a rich and full-strength expression of Deanston's distinctive Highland spirit.

Deanston is known for a naturally waxy, honeyed and malty style, providing an excellent foundation for the rich influence of Pedro Ximénez sherry oak. The PX hogshead brings layers of raisins, dates, dark chocolate and treacle alongside the distillery's characteristic honey, sweet malt and orchard fruits. Bottled directly from a single cask at natural strength, this Unicorn release delivers a bold combination of sherry richness, Highland character and warming spice. The bespoke label brings a playful twist to The Whisky Barrel Unicorn Series, depicting a unicorn in the Deanston still house accompanied by some inquisitive monkeys and a giraffe. Quite how they found their way into the distillery is anyone's guess, although nearby Blair Drummond Safari Park might offer a clue. The scene provides a light-hearted nod to the local area while continuing the distinctive storytelling behind each Unicorn Series release.
