Cooley Distillery was established on the Cooley Peninsular in County Louth in 1987 by John Teeling. Water from the Cooley Mountains is used to produce grain whisky from two column stills in one still house and malt whisky using two copper stills and a double distillation process in a second still house. Cooley Distillery produces both peated and unpeated malt whisky.
Strong and concentrated smokey peatiness. The palate starts with an enormous peat surge that combines with complex combination of fruit, peppers and chocolate. Astonishingly long and glorious finish with peat clinging to every corner of your mouth.
