Matured in refill sherry hogsheads. Gordon & MacPhail bottling of the lost distillery. Convalmore Convalmore Distillery was founded in 1893 and commenced production of Speyside malt whisky the following year. Convalmore joined the James Buchanan blending empire and together they coped admirably with prohibition. A continuous sill was installed in 1909 and produced malt whisky until 1915 when it was removed and was replaced by four pot stills. The tall square four stage still house which housed Convalmore’s continuous still is still standing and is one of only two remaining in Scotland, the other is at the site of Kirkliston Distillery near Edinburgh. The distillery closed in 1985 and whilst the buildings are still standing all the equipment has been removed and so Convalmore Distillery is one of Speyside’s lost malt whisky distilleries. A medium bodied whisky with peppery fruitiness.

Convalmore
Convalmore Distillery, founded in 1893 near Balvenie Distillery in Scotland’s Speyside whisky region, began producing malt whisky the following year. Notably, a continuous still was later installed and operated until 1915, when it was replaced by four pot stills, marking a significant shift in production methods. The tall, square still house that once accommodated the continuous still remains intact and is one of only two such buildings surviving in Scotland. Although Convalmore ceased operations in 1985, with its original equipment subsequently removed, the distillery buildings still stand—making Convalmore a lost Speyside distillery cherished by collectors. Bottlings are exceedingly rare but include Gordon & MacPhail’s Convalmore Rare Old, reflecting the enduring appeal of this historic site among Scotch whiskyenthusiasts
