TWB Tasting Notes:
On the nose, rich aromas of smoky peat, dark fruits like raisins and figs, and sweet sherry come forward, layered with hints of vanilla, toffee, and subtle maritime saltiness. There are underlying notes of dark chocolate and a gentle whiff of iodine, characteristic of Islay whiskies.
On the palate, it's robust and full-bodied. The smoky peat is intense yet balanced by the sweetness from the sherry casks, with flavors of dried fruits, cinnamon, and dark spices. The bourbon cask influence brings creamy vanilla, honey, and a touch of citrus zest. As the whisky opens up, the sherry richness mingles with the coastal peat smoke, creating a harmonious blend of sweet, savory, and smoky.
The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of dried fruits, campfire smoke, oak spices, and a touch of salt. The peat smoke and sherry sweetness fade together, leaving a satisfying, complex aftertaste. This whisky is a beautifully balanced mix of smoky intensity, fruity sweetness, and coastal character.
