Relive the buzz of Islay’s 2008 festival with Bowmore 8 Year Old – 1999 Vintage, Feis Ìle 2008 Exclusive. Distilled at Islay’s oldest working distillery and fully matured in a trio of Limousin French-oak casks—traditionally used for Cognac—this vibrant single malt marries Bowmore’s hallmark coastal smoke with sweet spice, vanilla cream and bright orchard fruit. Bottled at natural cask strength exclusively for festival visitors, every one of the 800 individually numbered bottles is hand-signed by the distillery manager, capturing a unique snapshot of Bowmore’s spirit at youthful, oak-forward intensity.

Why We Think You’ll Love It

  • Triple Limousin-oak maturation layers vanilla custard, sweet spice and subtle tannin onto Bowmore’s maritime peat.

  • 8 years capture the distillery’s spirit at energetic, full-smoke vibrancy while showcasing elegant French-oak influence.

  • Bottled at natural cask strength, non-chill-filtered and natural colour—undiluted Islay intensity.

  • Feis Ìle 2008 exclusive—strictly 800 bottles, each hand-signed by the distillery manager, making it a prized festival collectible.

  • Perfect balance of sea-spray smoke, orchard sweetness and oak-driven spice—an unforgettable dram for peat lovers and Bowmore devotees.

Pour a measure of this rare Bowmore and savour an exhilarating fusion of coastal peat, creamy vanilla and Limousin-oak sophistication—an Islay festival memory in every sip.

The Distillery

Bowmore
Bowmore Distillery, founded by David Simpson in 1779 on the shores of Loch Indaal on the Isle of Islay, is recognized as one of the oldest working distilleries on Islay and among the earliest malt whisky distilleries in Scotland. Renowned for its dedication to traditional production methods, Bowmore still malts a portion of its barley on heritage malting floors and uses its own malt kilns—a practice that contributes to its distinct Islay single malt character. Actively participating in Feis Ile, the annual Islay Festival of Malt and Music, Bowmore offers special bottlings during this vibrant celebration, further cementing its reputation among whisky enthusiasts. Popular official releases include the Bowmore 12 Year Old, 15 Year Old, and 25 Year Old, each showcasing the distillery’s hallmark fusion of peat smoke and maritime influence that has made Bowmore an essential name in Scotch whisky history.
