Spirit of Freedom 'The 45' Campbeltown blended Scotch whisky. Limited edition bottled following the Scottish Independence Referendum of September 18th 2014, in support of the 45% of the voting population who said “Yes". A blend of 45 different whiskies from across Scotland. Blended Scotch Blended Scotch is a mixture of one or more Single Malt Scotch Whiskies with one or more Single Grain Scotch Whiskies. The inclusion of grain whisky provides a diluting effect on the relatively harsher malt whisky and produces a smoother, milder product. With the resources to mix and blend from a diverse  range of whiskies, Scotland’s whisky blenders are able to standardise the colour, strength and taste across their brands thereby generating repeatability and consistency in their blends
