Blended Scotch is a mixture of one or more Single Malt Scotch Whiskies with one or more Single Grain Scotch Whiskies. The inclusion of grain whisky provides a diluting effect on the relatively harsher malt whisky and produces a smoother, milder product. With the resources to mix and blend from a diverse range of whiskies, Scotland’s whisky blenders are able to standardise the colour, strength and taste across their brands thereby generating repeatability and consistency in their blends.
Nose: Full of fruits, dark cherries, peaches in syrup, figs, oranges, cantaloupe melon, honey off the comb, cooking apples.
Palate: Thick mouth feel, balanced fresh woodiness shows maturity yet is still vibrant. More citrus notes emerge before the sherry notes come through. Raisins, stewed fruits, pain au chocolat.
