Bladnoch Alinta is a bold and distinctive peated Lowland single malt Scotch whisky, crafted at the historic Bladnoch Distillery. Meaning “fire” or “flames” in an Australian Indigenous language, Alinta reflects the whisky’s smoky character while paying tribute to Master Distiller Dr Nick Savage’s Australian heritage.

This richly flavoured expression combines peated spirit matured in a carefully selected mix of Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and ex-bourbon casks, creating a beautifully balanced whisky where sweet smoke, dark fruits, vanilla, and spice intertwine. The PX casks add luxurious richness and dried fruit depth, while the bourbon casks enhance the whisky with creamy vanilla and soft oak sweetness.

Why We Think You’ll Love It

  • Peated Lowland single malt Scotch whisky from Bladnoch Distillery

The Distillery

Bladnoch
Bladnoch Distillery, founded in 1817 by brothers John and Thomas McClelland, is a historic Lowlands single malt whisky distillery located on the northern bank of the River Bladnoch, near Bladnoch Bridge and just upstream from Wigtown in southwest Scotland. Equipped with two small stills, this intimate operation has experienced multiple closures over the years, most recently in 2009, but is undergoing extensive refurbishment with a re-opening planned for late 2016. Known for producing distinctive Lowlands single malt, Bladnoch whiskies are also available through independent bottlers, including Gordon & MacPhail and the Old Malt Cask range from Hunter Laing, ensuring continued interest in this storied distillery’s unique contributions to Scottish whisky heritage.
