Benromach 39 Year Old 1977 Single Cask is an exceptionally rare Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 1977 and bottled in 2017 after almost four decades of maturation. Drawn from single cask #1268, this highly limited release yielded just 225 bottles, making it a remarkable collector’s expression from one of Speyside’s most characterful distilleries.
At 39 years old, this whisky represents a rare glimpse into an earlier era of Benromach production. Extended maturation has allowed the spirit and oak to develop exceptional depth and complexity, with mature fruit, polished wood, gentle spice and rich malt combining in a refined and beautifully integrated profile.
The presentation underlines the rarity of the whisky. Each bottle is housed in a hand-crafted oak presentation case, designed to echo the appearance and warm tones of Benromach’s traditional wooden washbacks. The result is a fitting presentation for a single cask release of this age and scarcity.

Benromach
Benromach Distillery, designed by Charles C. Doig and constructed in 1898 for D. McCallum and F.W. Burickman at Forres in Scotland’s Speyside whisky region, has a rich history marked by multiple closures before its acquisition in 1993 by Gordon & MacPhail. Under their stewardship, Benromach’s single pair of stills were reignited in 1998, ushering in a new era of handcrafted single malt production. Today, the distillery’s striking new labeling and ever-expanding range—featuring popular expressions such as Benromach Organic, Benromach Peat Smoke, and the classic Benromach 10 Year Old—have cemented its status as a rising star in the world of Speyside Scotch whisky, earning acclaim from enthusiasts and collectors alike.
