TWB Tasting Notes:
On the nose, rich aromas of dark chocolate, dried fruits, and toasted almonds mingle with subtle hints of citrus zest and warm spices. The palate offers a full-bodied experience featuring layers of sweet sherry, caramelized figs, and ripe plums, complemented by undertones of vanilla and nutmeg. The finish is long and satisfying, with lingering notes of oak, spice, and a gentle wisp of smoke.
The use of an Oloroso Octave cask—a smaller cask holding approximately one-eighth the volume of a standard sherry butt—allows for greater wood-to-whisky contact. This results in a deeper infusion of the rich Oloroso sherry characteristics, enhancing the whisky's complexity and depth.
Bottled at natural cask strength and free from chill filtration and artificial coloring, this expression captures the pure essence of Benrinnes' spirit. Each bottle from cask #313794C is individually numbered, ensuring its uniqueness and collectible value.
