Tasting Notes
This deep gold coloured whisky has notes of toffee, chocolate sauce, raspberry and fragrant tobacco on the nose. Very fruity on the palate with mango, passion fruit, tangerine alongside honey-drizzled lemon meringue pie and a faint touch of menthol. Lingers on the finish with mixed fruit juice and the sweetest of oak.

Distilled in 1998 and matured for a full quarter-century in a single refill Oloroso sherry butt, this rare expression was bottled in September 2023 and limited to just 234 bottles. Long, patient maturation in sherry oak has infused the whisky with deep richness, layers of dried fruit, polished spice, and elegant maturity—perfectly complementing Benriach’s signature orchard-fruit character.

Benriach
Benriach Distillery was founded in 1898 by John Duff just south of Elgin in Scotland’s esteemed Speyside whisky region, complete with a dedicated siding to the Great North of Scotland Railway. Despite having to close in 1900, Benriach’s traditional floor maltings—featuring a classic pagoda roof—continued to operate until 1999, preserving a vital link to the distillery’s heritage. Reopening in 1965 and later fully revived in 2004, Benriach has since developed an extensive range of single malt Scotch whiskies, beginning with its Benriach 10 Year Old, a 16 Year Old expression, and vintage cask releases dating back to the 1970s. Now owned by Brown-Forman of America, Benriach remains a pillar of Speyside whisky tradition, admired by enthusiasts worldwide for its innovative spirit and enduring commitment to craftsmanship.
