Balvenie
William Grant converted the ruins of Balvenie House into Balvenie malt whisky distillery in 1892 in order to meet the global demand for William Grant’s Scottish Speyside malt whisky and blended scotch. Balvenie Distillery is situated near Balvenie Castle and the River Fiddich in Scotland’s Speyside whisky region and is one of the few Scottish distilleries to malt barley on its own malt floors and to dry its malted barley over a peat fire in its own malt kiln. Visitors can enjoy an in-depth Balvenie scotch whisky experience and distillery tour. Balvenie Distillery is also a participant in the popular Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival.
Nose: Intense and complex. Fruity (orange peel), floral (heather) and marked by honey, it assumes the character of the oak woods with notes of vanilla, spices and toasted cereals. Palate: Rich and silky. Malty with notes of toffee, marmalade and honey, it is typical of the distillery malts, all coated with a smooth combined with vanilla and spices.
