Ardnamurchan Heritage Barley Release Sherry is a distinctive Highland single malt Scotch whisky produced entirely from 100% unpeated Golden Promise heritage barley. Bottled in 2026 at a powerful 58.4% ABV, this special release was matured in a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, bringing together Ardnamurchan’s naturally fresh, coastal spirit with rich layers of dried fruit, chocolate and spice. Golden Promise is a traditional barley variety with a long association with Scotch whisky, prized for the character and texture it can bring to the spirit. By using 100% unpeated Golden Promise barley, Ardnamurchan places the grain itself firmly at the centre of this release, allowing its soft cereal sweetness and malty character to shine beneath the influence of the sherry casks. The combination of Oloroso and PX maturation adds impressive depth and richness. Oloroso contributes roasted nuts, orange and warming spice, while Pedro Ximénez brings raisins, dates, treacle and dark chocolate. Bottled at 58.4% ABV, the whisky retains excellent concentration and texture, creating a bold but balanced expression with plenty of fruit, malt and sherry character.
