Ardmore
William Teacher’s son Adam Teacher established Ardmore Distillery in 1898 in Scotland’s Highland whisky region. He selected a site to the south of Huntly and next door to Kennethmont station on the Great North of Scotland Railway line and a plentiful supply of soft highland water from springs on the hills to the north and peat to hand. Whilst Ardmore Distillery continues to contribute a large proportion of its malt whisky to blends the Ardmore single malt range, including Ardmore Traditional, is slowly increasing.
NOSE: Opens with a sweet smoky quality – carrying a toasted malt style + dark chocolate.
PALATE: The soft smoke now runs to a sweet (burnt) home baked character + charred wood.
FINISH: Still sweetly smoked – the long finish now develops wood ashes & flamed orange zest.
