Ardbeg Mor 1st Edition Islay single melat Scoth whisky. A giant 4.5 litre cask strength 10 year old launched at the 2007 Islay Festival. One of only 1,000 individually numbered bottles. Bottled to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Ardbeg's 1997 renaissance. A very rare and increasingly sought after bottle. Ardbeg
John MacDougall officially established the Ardbeg Distillery in 1815 although Alexander Stewart had been busy distilling close by since 1794. Resting on the Kildalton peninsular along the rocky south east coast of the island of Islay in the village of Ardbeg and subject to numerous closures over the centuries. Basking in glorious sunshine on good days and North Atlantic gales on exciting days. Ardbeg Distillery draws soft peaty water from Loch Uigeadail and Loch Airigh nam Beist up amongst the hills behind the distillery. In times past Ardbeg malt whisky flowed into numerous brands of blended scotch but these days most is released as Ardbeg single malt by the distillery and independent bottlers. Ardbeg Distillery is a participant in the world famous Islay whisky festival.

The Distillery

Ardbeg
Established in 1815 by John McDougal, Ardbeg Distillery is located on the Kildalton Peninsula of the Isle of Islay—a region celebrated for its peaty single malts. Drawing soft, peaty water from Loch Uigeadail and Loch Airigh nam Beist in the hills behind the distillery, Ardbeg crafts an iconic range of whiskies, including the highly regarded Ardbeg Uigeadail and Ardbeg 10 Year Old. Each year, Ardbeg takes part in the Feis Ile, the island’s world-renowned Festival of Malt and Music, welcoming visitors to its distillery tours and the Old Kiln Café, which serves mouthwatering Scottish fare. Immerse yourself in Ardbeg’s rich heritage and discover why it remains a standout name among Islay single malt whisky distilleries.
