Tasting Notes

Nose Billows of kiln smoke and sea-spray weave through lime zest, vanilla pod, toasted marshmallow and a wisp of medicinal peat. Palate An explosive rush of charcoal embers, briny toffee and liquorice root floods the tongue, followed by creamy vanilla fudge, cracked black pepper and a bright flash of grapefruit peel. Finish Long, smouldering and gently dry—lingering camp-fire ash, salted caramel and a final flourish of charred-oak spice.
Experience untamed Islay character in micro-batch form with Ardbeg 10 Year Old – 1998 Vintage, Single Cask #368. Filled into a first-fill ex-bourbon barrel on 17 March 1998 and left to mature in Ardbeg’s seaside warehouses, the spirit was bottled—at natural cask strength—in March 2010. Every one of the 240 individually numbered bottles bears the distillery manager’s hand-signature, capturing Ardbeg’s hallmark tarry smoke wrapped in vanilla cream, toasted coconut and zesty citrus at peak ten-year vibrancy.

Why We Think You’ll Love It

  • Single first-fill bourbon barrel (#368) amplifies creamy vanilla, coconut and vibrant citrus against Ardbeg’s maritime peat.

  • Bottled at natural cask strength (non-chill-filtered, natural colour) for undiluted Islay intensity.

  • 10 years capture Ardbeg’s spirit at full youthful vigour while showcasing refined bourbon-cask sweetness.

  • Strictly 240 bottles, each hand-signed by the distillery manager—an essential collectible for Ardbeg aficionados.

  • Exemplifies Ardbeg’s signature balance of briny smoke, orchard freshness and bourbon-glazed richness in a unique single-cask snapshot.

Pour a dram of Cask #368 and savour an exhilarating union of coastal peat, vanilla-cream richness and citrus brightness—an unforgettable whisky that blazes from first nosing to lingering ember.

Ardbeg
Established in 1815 by John McDougal, Ardbeg Distillery is located on the Kildalton Peninsula of the Isle of Islay—a region celebrated for its peaty single malts. Drawing soft, peaty water from Loch Uigeadail and Loch Airigh nam Beist in the hills behind the distillery, Ardbeg crafts an iconic range of whiskies, including the highly regarded Ardbeg Uigeadail and Ardbeg 10 Year Old. Each year, Ardbeg takes part in the Feis Ile, the island’s world-renowned Festival of Malt and Music, welcoming visitors to its distillery tours and the Old Kiln Café, which serves mouthwatering Scottish fare.
