Tasting Notes
Hunter Laing Tasting Notes: A full-bodied nose with hints of green apples and marzipan. The palate is sweet yet mellow with flavours of toffee, stewed plums and grass leading into a long and satisfying finish. TWB Tasting Notes: Nose: A captivating aroma of honeyed malt and vanilla intertwines with notes of ripe orchard fruits—think apples and pears—accented by subtle hints of citrus zest and floral heather. Palate: Elegantly smooth with a rich tapestry of flavors. Layers of creamy toffee and butterscotch meld with gentle spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. The refill hogshead imparts delicate oak nuances without overshadowing the distillery's signature spirit. Finish: Long and satisfying, leaving a warm embrace of sweet malt, soft oak, and a whisper of spice that lingers gracefully.

The Distillery
Allt-a-Bhainne
Allt-a-Bhainne Distillery, founded in 1975, is a lesser-known Speyside distillery located southwest of Dufftown, at the foot of Ben Rinnes. Drawing its water from the Allt-a-Bhainne Burn, the distillery benefits from the region’s rain and melting snow that naturally flow down the steep slopes of the mountain. Originally designed to produce a light malt for Chivas blends, Allt-a-Bhainne recently expanded its production to include peated whiskies, showcasing its versatility. Despite increasing from two stills to four in 1989, there have been few official distillery bottlings. However, independent bottlings—such as Connoisseurs Choice and First Editions—offer a rare opportunity to experience the unique character of this hidden Speyside gem.
