Ledaig We Have Lift-Off 11 Year Old 2009 is a bold and evocative Isle of Mull single malt Scotch whisky, released to celebrate a landmark moment in space exploration—the Apollo 7 mission, the first crewed flight of the Apollo programme to successfully orbit the Earth and return home after 11 days. This historic mission proved the safety and reliability of the Apollo spacecraft, paving the way for humanity’s journey to the Moon.
To commemorate this achievement, The Whisky Barrel selected a single first fill sherry hogshead sourced from Bodegas Rey Fernando de Castilla in Jerez. Distilled in 2009 and bottled in July 2020, this limited-edition Ledaig yielded just 102 individually numbered bottles, making it an exceptionally rare and highly collectible release, exclusive to The Whisky Barrel.
Matured in rich sherry wood, this expressive Ledaig balances the distillery’s distinctive coastal smoke with luxurious sweetness and depth—capturing the drama, power, and excitement of mankind’s first steps toward the Moon.
