Nishinomiya Coffey Malt 12 Year Old

A highly unusual whisky made from malted barley but distilled in a Coffey still column which is traditionally associated with grain whisky. 3,027 numbered bottles. This whisky scooped Japanese Whisky of the Year accolade in the 2009 Whisky Bible. Nishinomiya (Japan) Nishinomiya Distillery was situated to the north west of Osaka on Japan’s main island of Honsh?. Nishinomiya was equipped with continuous Coffey stills which were used to produce both malt whisky and grain whisky. The Coffey stills were removed from Nishinomiya Distillery and installed in another Nikka distillery in 1999. Nikka Coffey whisky released up until 2010 originated from Nishinomiya Distillery. No tasting notes at present.
