Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix

Limited edition inspired by the collapse of several Glenfiddich distillery roofs in January 2010, following weeks of heavy snow and record low temperatures in the North East of Scotland. Snow Phoenix was created by marrying together natural strength and non-chill filtered casks of different ages (13-30 years old) and finishes, including American oak and Oloroso sherry.  Glenfiddich William Grant established Glenfiddich Distillery in 1886, built it with the help of his family and Glenfiddich has spent its entire working life prospering in the ownership of subsequent generations of the Grant family. Glenfiddich Distillery is situated in the heart of Scotland’s Speyside whisky region and being equipped with twenty-eight stills the distillery has more operational stills than most other malt whisky distillery in the world. Glenfiddich Distillery has a superb visitor centre offering distillery tours and excellent food is served in the restaurant. The Glenfiddich single malt whisky range includes the Snow Phoenix. Nose: Creamy vanilla aromas mingle with vibrant notes of apple and pear - the whole complimented by the scent of fresh blossom. Palate: This is Glenfiddich in the wild-apples roasted in the embers of a campfire, sweetened with heather honey and accompanied by a piece of chocolate, rich and complex with a whiff of burned sugar, coffee and wood smoke. Finish: An exceptionally long finish - austere sherry notes mellow into a satisfying sweetness.
