Matured for 27 years in refill bourbon barrels and bottled at 48.4% ABV, this rare release showcases the wonderfully tropical, creamy, and fruit-driven character that can emerge from extended maturation of high-quality grain whisky. Dumbarton Distillery ceased production in 2002 and was subsequently demolished, making surviving stocks increasingly scarce. The gentle influence of refill bourbon oak has allowed the mature grain spirit to develop over nearly three decades without becoming dominated by the cask. Mandarin peel, honeyed almonds, and ripe grapes lead into an exotic palate of orange sherbet, coconut cream, and papaya, evoking the bright fruit and warmth of a sun-drenched Mediterranean coastline.
