Distilled just two years before the Cambus coffey stills fell silent forever, this single-grain Scotch matured for three decades in a solitary refill butt (#104233) before being bottled in July 2022. Presented in Signatory’s elegant glass-stoppered decanter at natural cask strength, un-chill-filtered and natural in colour, only 258 individually numbered bottles reveal Cambus’s satin-smooth vanilla, honeyed grain, and polished oak in glorious maturity.

1806년 존 모브리(John Moubry)가 설립한 캠버스 증류소는 스코틀랜드의 유명한 로우랜드 위스키 산지인 알로아 인근의 캠버스에 자리 잡고 몰트 위스키와 그레인 위스키를 생산했습니다. 모브리는 스테인 앤 헤이그(Stein and Haig) 가문의 전략적 인센티브를 받아 증류소 운영을 일시적으로 중단한 증류업자 그룹의 일원이었습니다. 이는 스테인 앤 헤이그가 스코틀랜드산 증류주를 런던 진 시장에 수출하는 독점권을 유지할 수 있도록 하기 위한 조치였습니다. 캠버스 증류소는 1993년에 운영을 중단했지만, 헌터 라잉 소버린(Hunter Laing Sovereign)과 같은 독립 병입업체를 통해 여전히 그 유산을 이어가고 있으며, 특히 헌터 라잉 소버린의 캠버스 그레인 위스키는 애호가와 수집가 모두에게 높은 인기를 얻고 있습니다. 현재 옛 증류소 부지는 디아지오(Diageo)의 캐스크 충전 공장으로 탈바꿈하여 캠버스의 풍부한 유산이 스코틀랜드 위스키 세계에 계속해서 영향을 미치고 있음을 보여주고 있습니다.
