Aberlour Exploration at Its Greatest 12 Year Old 2008 is a richly characterful Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, released to commemorate a landmark moment in human discovery—Apollo 15, when Commander David Scott became the 7th person to walk on the Moon on July 31st, 1971. This historic mission was the first of the advanced “J” missions, enabling greater lunar exploration and famously returning the ancient Genesis Rock to Earth.

To honour this extraordinary achievement, this whisky was distilled in 2008 and matured for 12 years in a single Oloroso sherry hogshead sourced from Bodega Fernando de Castilla. Bottled in February 2021, just 262 individually numbered bottles were released, making this a rare and highly collectible expression, exclusive to The Whisky Barrel.

Tasting Notes

우주적인 스페인 셰리, 오렌지 껍질의 알갱이, 밀크 초콜릿의 풍미가 길고 기름진 멘톨과 말린 과일 향과 함께 지구로 자유낙하하는 듯한 느낌입니다.
