Old Pulteney Clipper

Old Pulteney Clipper Highland single malt Scotch whisky. Matured in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels and Spanish oak ex-Sherry butts. Limited commemorative release to mark Old Pulteney’s sponsorship of the UK Entry to the 2013/2014 round the world yacht race. Pulteney Pulteney Distillery was established by James Henderson in 1826 in the coastal town of Wick, Caithness. Pulteney Distillery is a Highland malt whisky distillery equipped with worm tubs to cool the spirit from its single pair of particularly short stills. Thomas Telford designed the lade which originally carried all the water into the distillery, and a fragment of his stone channel survives in the back yard. Pulteney Distillery welcomes visitors to the distillery visitor centre where tours are available and Pulteney Distillery visitors can sample Old Pulteney single malt whisky. Nose: Sweetness of dried fruits and crispiness of green apples is accompanied by notes of fresh vanilla and white chocolate Palate: Waves of honey and orange zest, a rounded oaky structure and an unmistakable coastal note which sets Old Pulteney apart.
