Tasting Notes

Nose: Plush notes of raisin loaf, honeyed cereal and orange peel mingle with polished oak, soft caramel and a hint of chocolate truffle. Palate: Silky waves of toffee fudge, dried fig and vanilla cream glide across the tongue, followed by gentle nutmeg, toasted almond and a touch of candied citrus. Finish: Long, warming and satin‑smooth—lingering sherry‑soaked fruitcake, mellow oak tannin and a final whisper of sweet grain biscuit.
Delve into Lowland elegance with North British 33 Year Old – 1991 Vintage, Signatory Cask Strength. Distilled at Edinburgh’s venerable grain distillery and laid to rest in Refill Oloroso Sherry Butt #262087, this single‑grain Scotch spent more than three decades absorbing layers of dried‑fruit richness, toffee and mellow oak spice. Drawn in December 2014 and bottled at natural cask strength, only 430 individually numbered bottles were released—unchill‑filtered and natural in colour. The result is a silky, deeply complex grain whisky where velvety sherry sweetness meets the creamy vanilla core of mature North British spirit.

Why We Think You’ll Love It

  • A venerable 33‑year single‑grain Scotch from North British—rarely seen at this age and richness.

  • Entirely matured in a seasoned refill Oloroso butt, weaving dried‑fruit depth and warming spice through creamy grain sweetness.

  • Bottled at natural cask strength, non‑chill‑filtered and natural colour for undiluted texture, aroma and flavour.

  • Strictly limited to 430 bottles, making it a prized find for collectors and aficionados seeking the luxurious side of well‑aged grain whisky.

The Distillery

North British
North British Distillery, founded in 1885 by Andrew Usher, John M. Crabbie, and William Sanderson, is a historic Lowland whisky distillery located in the Gorgie area of Edinburgh, Scotland. Established to ensure a steady supply of grain whisky for cordials and Scotch blends, the distillery features four Coffey stills producing grain spirit at 94.5% ABV with multi-million litres annually. Most whisky matures in central Lowland racked warehouses, while select casks age for at least eight years in Dunnage Warehouse No.1. Although official releases are limited, exceptional single malts are available through independent bottlers like Hart Brothers and Hunter Laing.
