Mystery Malt (Highland Park) 21 Year Old 2005 Signatory Cask Strength
Bottle Information
Tasting Notes
Orkney (Highland Park) 21 Year Old 2005 is an exceptional Orkney single malt Scotch whisky, bottled by Signatory Vintage for its prestigious Cask Strength Collection. Distilled in 2005 at the undisclosed Highland Park Distillery and matured in a single first-fill Oloroso sherry butt (#DRU 17/A63 #30), this rare expression was bottled in 2026 at a natural cask strength of 54.6% ABV. More than two decades of maturation have brought together the distinctive character of mature Orkney spirit with the richness of an active Oloroso sherry cask. Released simply as an Orkney single malt, the whisky originates from Highland Park, one of Scotland's most celebrated island distilleries. The first-fill Oloroso sherry butt brings generous layers of dried fruit, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and warming spice, beautifully complementing the whisky's characteristic honeyed malt, maritime character, and gentle heathery peat smoke. Bottled at natural cask strength without chill-filtration or added colour, this is a wonderfully expressive example of mature independently bottled Highland Park.
