Laphroaig 21 Year Old 1992 Director's Cut

Laphroaig 21 Year Old Director's Cut Islay single malt Scotch whisky. 1992 vintage single sherry butt #9969 bottled September 2013 by Douglas Laing & Co. Laphroaig Laphroaig Distillery was established in 1815 on the rocky south coast of the Isle of Islay off the west coast of Scotland. Laphroaig is a malt whisky distillery which continues to malt barley using its traditional malting floors and malt kiln. In 1994 Laphroaig was awarded the Royal Warrant. Visitors are welcomed at the Laphroaig Distillery visitor centre where distillery tours are available. Laphroaig Distillery participates in Feis Ile, the Islay Festival of Malt and Music.  Nose: Massively spiced with a burnt toffee character & damp cigar ashes. Palate: Mouthcoatingly peated - rather sweet +dried fruit then waves of ashes & smoke appear. Finish: Long + peat smoke - now developing to soft tar & salty liquorice.
