Ladyburn
Ladyburn Distillery, a prominent Lowland whisky distillery situated within the Girvan grain distillery complex in Ayrshire, Scotland, began operations on Christmas Day 1966. Featuring six stainless steel washbacks and four stills, Ladyburn specialized in crafting high-quality malt whisky primarily for William Grant’s blended Scotch whiskies. Despite its strong start, the distillery closed in 1975 and was subsequently demolished, becoming one of Scotland’s lost malt whisky distilleries. In 2012, Signatory Vintage commemorated Ladyburn’s heritage by releasing a rare 40-year-old single malt under the Rare Ayrshire label, making it a treasured acquisition for whisky collectors.
