Bottled in August 2010 at 45%. 139 bottles. Glen Mhor John Birnie and James Mackinlay commissioned Charles C. Doig to design Glen Mhor Distillery which was found in 1892 and constructed at Muirton Basin in Inverness. Glen Mhor Distillery was a Scottish Highland malt whisky distillery equipped with two stills and one of the pioneering distilleries to release single malt whisky back in the 1960s. Closed in 1983, dismantled in 1986, demolished 1988 and now one of Scotland’s lost malt whisky distilleries. Glen Mhor 1966 is bright gold in colour, with sweet, toffee aromas laced with herbal notes of menthol, eucalyptus and bracken. Toasted oak and vanilla flavours arrive on the palate.

Glen Mhor
Glen Mhor Distillery, commissioned by John Birnie and James Mackinlay and designed by the renowned architect Charles C. Doig, was founded in 1892 and constructed at Muirton Basin on the Caledonian Canal in Inverness, within Scotland’s prestigious Highland whisky region. As a pioneering Highland malt whisky distillery, Glen Mhor was equipped with two stills and became one of the first distilleries to release single malt whisky in the 1960s. Despite its innovative contributions to the whisky industry, the distillery closed in 1983, was dismantled in 1986, and ultimately demolished in 1988, marking it as one of Scotland’s lost malt whisky distilleries. Today, remaining stocks of Glen Mhor whisky are highly prized, especially rare independent bottlings from Gordon & MacPhail, making Glen Mhor expressions coveted collectibles among whisky enthusiasts and collectors worldwide
