Girvan
Girvan Distillery is a Scottish Lowland grain whisky distillery situated on the Ayrshire coast. William Grant and Sons Ltd opened Girvan Distillery in 1963 to supply grain whisky to Grant’s blends of scotch but with maturation in quality casks in warehouses subject to coastal influences Girvan Distillery is also able to produce excellent single grain whiskies. Within the Girvan Distillery complex the Ladyburn Distillery produced malt whisky from 1966 until 1975.
Opens sweetly on the nose, superbly vanilla’d, carrying a creamy custard character with toffee. Still sweet on the palate, now with spicy honey & butterscotch, running to more vanilla. The finish is very more’ish, replicating the nose & palate, now with candied orange.
