Sleeping Warrior is a limited edition expression of Aran single malt matured in a combination of ex-sherry casks, bourbon and red wine casks. The stunning profile of the summits and ridges on the north-end of the Isle of Arran is referred to as the Sleeping Warrior due to its resemblance to a resting human figure. A donation from every bottle sold of the Sleeping Warrior will be made to the National Trust for Scotland to help maintain the footpaths on Goatfell, Arran’s highest peak Arran  Arran Distillery was commissioned by the Isle of Arran Distillers in 1995 to produce Arran malt whisky. Arran Distillery is situated just south of Lochranza on the northern tip of the Isle of Arran off the west coast of Scotland. Set in a stunning location between mountains and sea Arran is a small distillery is equipped with two stills, dunnage warehouses, a visitor centre offering distillery tours and a distillery café. Arran malt whisky is matured in sherry, bourbon, port and wine casks in order to produce an ever-evolving and expanding range of whiskies including Arran single malts and Arran blended scotch. The Sleeping Warrior release comprises Arran single malt whisky matured in both European and American oak casks. Arran Machrie Moor is a peated expression of Arran malt whisky. Tasting Notes

Nose: Dark and brooding in colour, the Sleeping Warrior is rich and robust on the nose with aromas of liquorice, leather and boiled sweets. Palate: Dark cherries and stewed fruits dominate the palate whilst a softer sweeter side emerges with water leading to lemon sherbet and toffee-apples. Finish: With an enduring, spicy and complex conclusion this is indeed a true mountain of a malt.
