Caol Ila The Eagle Has Landed 8 Year Old 2012 is a striking Islay single malt Scotch whisky, released to commemorate one of the most iconic moments in human history. On 20th July 1969, the Apollo 11 lunar module—call sign Eagle—undocked from the command module Columbia and descended toward the Moon’s surface. As the world watched in awe, Commander Neil Armstrong confirmed humanity’s first successful lunar landing with the immortal words: “Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed.”
To honour this extraordinary achievement, The Whisky Barrel selected a single sherry butt, distilled in 2012 and bottled in October 2020. This limited edition release yielded just 699 individually numbered bottles, making it a highly collectible expression, exclusive to The Whisky Barrel.

Oily nebular of solar barbeque chocolate and cosmic coffee. Twinkling liquorice leading to a gingerbread pulsar and a cinnamon spice meteor. Total eclipse of rich nougat in a smokey crater finish.
