Japanese Whiskey

Whiskey production in Japan began around 1870, but the first commercial production was in 1924 with the opening of Yamazaki distillery. Today Japanese whiskies are highly prized award winners and increasingly difficult to find. Masataka Taketsuru & Shinjiro Torii are the famous distilling names associated with Suntory distillers of Yamazaki, Hakushu & Nikka distillers Yoichi & Miyagiko.
