NEW SCOTCH: We have a fantastic, rare new whisky in stock. Ever heard of Garnheath Distillery? Probably not. Only producing whisky for 21 years between 1865 to 1986 before being demolished in 1988, whisky from this Lost Scottish Distillery is very hard to come by. Our friends at Independent bottling company Morrison & MacKay have released a very limited 41 year single grain bottling and we LOVE it. We had a wee taste and you can read our blog here: https://www.thewhiskybarrel.co.uk/blog/post/tasting-garnheath This one is rather special! Mortlach

Mortlach Distillery was established in 1823 on the banks of the River Dullan in Scotland’s Speyside whisky region. Mortlach is equipped with  wooden worm tubs, six stills of assorted shapes and sizes and three spirit safes in order to run a unique two and a half times or partial triple distillation process. Mortlach Distillery participates in the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival when distillery tours may be available. Official bottling of Mortlach Distillery single malt whisky are few, however, independent bottlers recognise the great quality of Mortlach whisky particularly following long maturation in sherry casks. Gordon and MacPhail released a stunning bottling of 70 year old Mortlach single cask malt whisky which was distilled in 1938 and matured in a single sherry hogshead until bottling in 2009.
