NEW SCOTCH: We have a fantastic, rare new whisky in stock. Ever heard of Garnheath Distillery? Probably not. Only producing whisky for 21 years between 1865 to 1986 before being demolished in 1988, whisky from this Lost Scottish Distillery is very hard to come by. Our friends at Independent bottling company Morrison & MacKay have released a very limited 41 year single grain bottling and we LOVE it. We had a wee taste and you can read our blog here: https://www.thewhiskybarrel.co.uk/blog/post/tasting-garnheath This one is rather special! Mannochmore 1994 vintage Speyside single malt Scotch whisky. Matured in Refill Sherry hogsheads and bottled 2014 by Gordon & MacPhail for the Connoisseurs Choice range.

Nose: Delicate Sherry influences with pear and green apple aromas. Complimented toadted malt and an underlying menthol note.

Palate: The palate has cracked black pepper with orange and ripe banana flavours. A creamy milk chocolate and brazil nut edge develops.

Mannochmore

Mannochmore Distillery was established in 1971 in Scotland’s Speyside whisky region alongside an elderly neighbour which dates from 1876. Mannochmore is equipped with eight larch washbacks and six stills and produced Loch Dhu the now sought after ‘black’ single malt whisky produced by maturation of Mannochmore malt whisky in heavily charred oak casks. Mannochmore typically produces light malt whisky with fragrant vanilla and malty notes.
