NEW SCOTCH: We have a fantastic, rare new whisky in stock. Ever heard of Garnheath Distillery? Probably not. Only producing whisky for 21 years between 1865 to 1986 before being demolished in 1988, whisky from this Lost Scottish Distillery is very hard to come by. Our friends at Independent bottling company Morrison & MacKay have released a very limited 41 year single grain bottling and we LOVE it. We had a wee taste and you can read our blog here: https://www.thewhiskybarrel.co.uk/blog/post/tasting-garnheath This one is rather special! Longrow (Springbank)

Springbank Distillery is the oldest, independent and family owned malt whisky distillery in Scotland having been founded in 1828 in Campbeltown at the foot of the Mull of Kintyre on the west coast of Scotland. Springbank produces three different types of malt whisky one of which is Longrow which was first produced in 1973 and is highly peated and double distilled. The barley is spread  across Springbank’s own traditional malting floors where it germinates and is then dried on the perforated floor of the kiln by hot  peat smoke for 48 hours. The name is in memory of  Longrow Distillery which sat adjacent to Springbank Distillery and is now one of Campbeltown’s  many lost distilleries. Longrow Distillery operated from 1824 until 1896.
